Maurizio L'Altrella

Statement

Inside Maurizio L’Altrella’s painting there is, in my opinion, a sudden reminder to enjoy the classic educated painting of the 500’s and 600’s that goes well above his so obvious style. Honoring these art centuries, L’Altrella, already smelling Gothic, sings his personal hymn to Baroque, and clearly celebrates Velasquez and Caravaggio. -Barbara Codogno (art critic) translated by Camilla Bernini Zeigler.
